A guitar pedal is a compact effects unit designed to sit on the floor and be controlled by the player’s foot. It typically contains electronic circuits that process the guitar’s signal. By pressing the footswitch, the player can turn the effect on or off instantly while playing. Knobs or switches on the pedal adjust parameters such as gain, tone, level, or effect depth, allowing precise control over how the sound is altered in real time.
-
As a commonly used accessory in live performances, traditional guitar pedals have several inconveniences. Due to their compact size, performers often accidentally step on control knobs or the input/output cables, and damage or misalignment of these fragile parts can directly affect performance quality. In addition, in low-light environments, performers often cannot clearly identify the status of the knobs, making it difficult to readjust effect settings when switching between songs.

The Lunar Grey guitar pedal is based on the classic Boss DS-1 pedal. By redesigning the shield and accessories, it aims to preserve the iconic appearance and distortion sound while addressing the issues commonly encountered in live performances. In this design, every component and exterior detail is intended to serve multiple functions within a limited space, while maintaining visual balance and a clean, minimal aesthetic.
The transparent protective cover that prevents accidental contact can slide within a recessed slot of the shield, allowing performers to quickly pull it open for adjustments during breaks in a performance.

Both the transparent protective cover and the lighting module can be removed independently, allowing performers to adjust and combine them freely based on different usage scenarios and personal playing preferences.
